Digital Strategist

about this role

The Digital Strategist is responsible for the day-to-day projects across multiple clients. You will act as the key contact for both client and internal teams managing deliverables flowing from the agency to the client. You will drive the planning and briefing for assigned projects and act as client contact on overall management of projects and correspondence. You will have a strong working knowledge of digital media including search, social, and programmatic display, a strategic planning approach to solving client business problems, and an understanding of creative and web development.

client service
  • Balance the dual expectations of clients and the agency to deliver projects in a timely manner.

  • Proactively resolve issues and keep senior management aware, understanding when to escalate.

  • Asses concerns in a systematic, logical and rational manner providing key next steps to those involved.

  • Develop client reports and presentations that are clear, compelling, and easily understood.

  • Build and maintain existing and new relationships with your roster of clients.

financial management
  • Monitor and report on financial performance through Budget Control Reports.

  • Accurately update monthly spend figures each month in preparation of invoicing to clients.

  • Develop and issue media purchase agreements and job estimates to clients.

  • Create and manage budgets and insertion orders with internal campaign team and external vendors.

  • Adhere to agreed upon client budgets and key performance metrics for proposed campaigns.

internal relationships
  • Build positive relationships with internal teams and set a good example within the agency.

  • Keep all agency departments informed of client-side developments and manage budget changes, timing, and tracking internally.

  • Work with Platform Campaign Managers, Creative, and Web Developers to ensure that deliverables are error free and meet the expectation of the clients.

  • Keep consistent with agency guidelines to deliver work reflective of the agency’s quality standard.

  • Understand the agency’s process and follow steps to ensure consistency.

qualifications
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills and ability to work independently and within a team environment.

  • Thorough understanding of the digital media planning and execution process, knowledge of creative and web development is an asset but not required.

  • Able to manage multiple deliverables and seamlessly transition among them.

  • Be passionate about digital marketing and keep up to date with new trends and platforms.

  • Have a positive energy, willingness to learn, and able to adapt to changes. We’re a small team and personality fit is a key criteria for the selected candidate.

  • 2-5 years experience in client facing roles within a digital media/marketing environment.
